A founder, Monday morning

The numbers live in a spreadsheet only you can read, and the investor update is a document you rewrite every month. This is the same week with an agent that publishes.

A scenario, not a customer story. No company, person or figure here is real; every step is something the product does today.

Where they are

You keep the plan in a spreadsheet: growth, hiring, runway. Every time someone asks "what if we hire two more", you copy a tab and start again, and the answer lives on your laptop.

Once a month you write an update for investors. It goes out as an email, gets forwarded, and you never know who read it.

What they ask for

Copy it and paste it at the agent you already use. It asks for anything it needs to know.

  • A twelve-month projection I can edit
  • This month's investor update

What the agent builds

One private page: the assumptions as inputs, the line that answers them, and the update written underneath.

Projection — redraws when an input changes

Assumptions

  • Monthly growth
  • Starting revenue
  • Hires per quarter
  • Cost per hire

The update

  • What shipped
  • What we learned
  • The ask
A schematic, not a screenshot. Your agent writes the page, so no two look alike.

What happens next

  1. Change an input, watch the line move

The page does its arithmetic in your browser, so moving the growth rate from one guess to another redraws the curve on the spot. "What if we hire two more" becomes a question you answer by dragging, not by copying a tab.
  2. Send the update as a link

Share it with each investor by email. They sign in to open it, which is why the artifact's Analytics tab can name who has read it and when — and you can stop guessing.
  3. Next month, ask again

Nothing runs on a schedule. Next month you ask your agent for the new update and it publishes to the same address. The old one is a version in the history, and putting it back is one click.

What it replaces

  • The spreadsheet tab only you understand
  • A monthly update pasted into an email nobody can find again
  • Not knowing whether anyone opened it

What it does not do

  • It runs nothing on a schedule. "Every month" means you ask your agent every month.
  • It does not connect to your bank or your accounting tool. The figures are the ones you give the agent.
  • Names appear only for people you shared it with who signed in. A public link is counted, never named.

The same move, elsewhere

A board brief is the same move with a different reader: ask for it, share it with the board, and see who opened it before the meeting.
